Synopsis: The Princess and the Warrior (2001)

Bodo (Benno Furmann) and Sissi (Franka Potente) come together under strange circumstances: at the scene of an accident where Bodo saves Sissi's life. Sissi works as nurse in a psyciatric hospital and Bodo is a crazy criminal. After their initial meeting, Sissi feels endebted to Bodo and sets out to find him again, only to discover how closely connected her life is to his.

    A Thinker's Film

    Like Run Lola Run, this film makes you think of the possibilities in life. It does not serve this to you on a platter. You need to use your head when viewing this film. It left me exhilarated about life. Both stars did a fantastic acting job. The dir...ector is a master story teller. It never gets boring. I would highly recommend it. Read more Less

    (*In German w/subtitles) I went to the film with no real expectationsother than the fact I was curious about who they(MIRAMAX) gave Kieslowski's(BLUE, WHITE, RED, DECALOGUE) last script(HEAVEN) to.I was pleasantly surprised with the film, to say the... least. It is a bit odd on some levels but universal throughout. The film primarily centers around a chance meeting between Bodo and Sissy. Throughout thier correspondance, the viewer is exposed to both of thier strange and often intense backrounds. Both actors were quite extraordinary. The film is mainly about fate, destiny, coincindences, love, and or other unanswerable questions. The visuals are also excellent. Read more Less
