The Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-traction Nintendo 64

The Powerpuff Girls for the N64 is a 3D fighting game starring characters from Cartoon Network's original hit series, The Powerpuff Girls. The tiny trio's Chemical X-laden pie has fallen into the hands of Mojo Jojo, who plans on giving slices to Townsville's most noted criminals. To protect their fair city, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles must fight the villains in a series of 3D environments, including Mojo Jojo's lair, Fuzzy's country shack, and the Townsville city dump. Ten characters are available to play as or against, divided equally into good and evil groups.

Inside each arena are a number of items or props that can be picked up and thrown at the opponent. Standard moves include punches, kicks, blocks, and jumps, but each character can also initiate a special move after collecting three vials of Chemical X scattered around the stage. The Powerpuff Girls also have the ability to fly for a short time, and all characters can catch thrown items in order to minimize damage. Each battle consists of three rounds while a clock counts down the remaining time.

Chemical X-Traction features two modes of play: the main Story Mode, which is one-player only and involves fighting the characters in succession until victorious, and the Simulator Mode, which can be played with one or two players. Adjustable options include round length, number of rounds per fight, and difficulty level (easy, medium, or hard). Progress during the Story Mode can be resumed at a later time by entering a password awarded at the end of each battle. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
