You think you have it bad?
Pros: Truly moving, excellent acting.
Cons: Because of the title, people who NEED to see it-won't.
When I turned this movie off, I literally thanked God for all I have been blessed with-family, friends, and freedom.

I have always been intrigued by the actors of various films, but really rarely has Adrien Brody and Thomas Kretschmann given so much impact or "prestance" to the screen. There seems to be a complicity between them when the German officers (Kretschmann) discovers him and invites him to play the piano. This scene in THE PIANIST is not to leave you without feeling. You seem to realize a person whom has lost all his family ( A. Brody incarnation W Szpilmann ) and the Officer whom has released his admiration to this person whom he saves his life. There is a remark which makes you understand that in life thints change and as we say in French: " Tout se paye dans la vie " which means everything falls back on you such did happen to this German officer whom led his feelings overcome his duties. He could have sent him to prison to a concenration camp but he didn't to such maybe perhaps of the events that were taking place? In any even I tend to express my admiration to not only these two actors but also to the entire cast whom contributed to the production of this film.

This was one of the best movies I have seen. Brody and Polanski deserved the Oscars. I never watch a film twice, but I would make an exception here. You feel drawn into the storyline along with Brody (who should get 6 *'s for his performance alone). They could have made this movie last an extra two hours. Is the Book better?

Why not make a film about someone living under Stalin, Mao Tse Dong or some other brutal leader? They killed -millions- more people and yet I've seen zero movies on them. This movie shows nothing of human nature, but instead serves as a "I've seen a movie about WW2, so therefore I'm not a racist hate monger" It was popular to hate Jews during WW2 and it is now popular to hate the hate mongers. If USA ever sinks to the economic troubles of Germany during that time, I would not be surprised if those who loved this movie are the first to throw the stones of hatred. You are the blindly lead and you shall be the New World Order.

True story of a Jew during the German occupation of Warsaw Poland. How the human spirit can survive under brutal presecution, story to tell us how we should treat our fellow man and not become some of the monsters of the past.

The Pianist is of a Jewish man's experience throughout the course of the second World War. This true story shows how he survives and endures the lose of so much. The movie is incredibly well acted and it's single person perspective makes the movie feel personal. The Pianist is one of the greatest WWII movies that hitherto has been made and should be watched by those who appreciate movies with more than just death and destruction.

This movie is an inspiration to those who think their lives have forced them to settle for less than they deserve. It shows how, even under what appears to be insurmountable odds in the human condition, one man found a way to survive and make something of himself. It is a tribute to the human spirit. Adrien Brody is awesome in the title role.
