God I love this movie! Mel Gibson is so great! Poor Heath, I can't believe he dies in this! I hate that his girlfriend dies and the women and children and elders left behind that burn in the church, it's very sad! I could watch this tear jerker all day everyday! It's just so much great acting!!!

more money doesn't meanmore excitement, basically bland fare with walk through performance by Mel,even for escapist entertainment it's shallow, vapid, and dull. Obviously trying to make money off of the flag wavers, it didn't work so he went for the religious christian fanatic votes!!!!!

The Patriot is an a,aazing movie with outstanding actors, Mel Gibson did a magnificant job as well as Heath Ledger. One of th most heartbraking parts of the movie was performed by a 7 year old girl,Susan(Skye McCole Bartusiak) Martin Benjamin's youngest daughter.

The patriot is an amazing film featuring Mel Gibson. This movie really captures what life would be like during the civil war. The Beauty of the scenery and the real life battle scenes are reason enough to see it. The patriot is a wonderful dramatic film. I would see it over and over.

i love this movie so much. Heath Ledger is sooooooooooooooooo hott! Same with mel Gibson. it is really sad when gabriel dies though because watching mels face when he cries made me cry every single time i watched it. It was also educational but it was sad when all the good people died from te militia.But hey thats what happened when it took place. THIS MOVIE ROCKS!

A disappointing effort from Mr. Gibson, the director and the screenplay author. The dialogue was laughable. The caricuratures of the British were simplistic. Save your money, buy Braveheart.

Patriot was a movie that shows emotions of a single fateher trying to protect his kids in a time of war. Every movie that has history in it will always be slightly inacurate. Some movies more then others. The patriot was a great movie and a good role for Mel.

Historically may not be truely accurate, but gives what patriots in 1700's went through, how war for any reason is never pretty, technology during this time shows the cruelity of face to face combat and reality of their world at that time to gain their freedom.

Watching American Beauty take Oscar for best picture made me lose a lot of faith in the quality and calibur of the Oscars. The Patriot was, by far, the superior movie of the year. Not only was the story REALISTIC (unlike the above mentioned), but it held momentum, especially through the anger of Mel Gibson's character, throughout the entire movie. I was very impressed and felt like I'd spend a good couple hours of my time... or 3 hours :)

I am a HUGE fan of Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger, so naturally I LOVED this film! This movie wonderfully illustrates the Revolutionary War and all its victories and losses. The drama will keep you on the edge of your seat and close to tears at times, yet yelling with victory. The realism of war is vastly apparent, and makes this film all the more real for it. This is a definate winner in my book!

When I first saw this movie in history class, I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong. Mel Gibson showed a great performance and had a lot of true facts about the revolutionary war. I think this is the best movie of all time.
