Oriental Casebook of Sherlock Holmes
Note:
After the climactic battle with Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls, the world (including Dr. Watson) believes that Sherlock Holmes is dead. In fact, Holmes is roaming through Asia, busily solving mysteries. The British Empire's hold on its Asian possessions is not as stable as it could be, so Holmes's cases often have important political implications for his homeland. Ted Riccardi claims some of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's unexplored territory in these nine short stories, which account for Holmes's "missing years." Included is the case of the Giant Rat of Sumatra, which is mentioned but never fully explained in Doyle's original Holmes oeuvre.
