The Orange Opera: Biography

The Orange Opera
Genre:
Rock Music

Decades Active:
2000's

The Orange Opera's whimsical power pop is largely created by singer/songwriter Kevin Hambrick, who founded the band while maintaining a concurrent solo career in the early 2000s. Hailing from Ft. Wayne, IN, the quartet funneled an appreciation for E.L.O., Badfinger, and the Beatles into a slightly more contemporary context, replete with lyrics about ice cream stores and football games. The combination helped earn the Orange Opera a regional following, and the four bandmates bassist Bryan Brubaker, guitarist Michael Ostermeyer, drummer Kevin Hockaday, and multiinstrumentalist Hambrick supported their craft with a handful of selffinanced releases, including the 2008 effort Ant Muscle.
