Whether a fiercely polemical punk band with liner notes full of anarchist propaganda or a parody of same, Nation of Ulysses formed in early 1988 around vocalist Ian Svenonius, guitarists Steve Kroner and Tim Green, bassist Steve Gamboa, and drummer James Canty (brother of Fugazi's Brendan Canty).
