Providing distinct power to the hardcore- and punk rock-style scene by conceiving pure and reckless rocking themes, the Movielife followed their own traditional way within the music industry. Relying both on intense touring seasons and on independent management, the quartet established themselves due to their swaying conceptions and because of their sole notion about creating and supporting rock music.
Forging their way out of Long Island, NY, the Movielife assembled in 1997 when Vinnie Caruana (vocals), Alex Amiruddin (guitar), Phil Navetta (bass), and Evan Baken decided to quit their former occupations, therefore dedicating their time fully to the band. During the breaks from their intense live performances, the crew managed to record their first demo discs, ultimately selling the records at their shows. Achieving considerable acclaim, the band gained notice within the industry and, shortly afterward, managed to record their first full-length, It's Go Time, for Fadeaway Records. Following the later addition of guitarist Brandon Reilly, the team entered the studio once more, releasing This Time Next Year in 2000, with production credits by Brian McTernan, who previously worked with bands such as Cave-In or Snapcase.
