The Mercy Seat is a side project for Violent Femmes singer and guitarist Gordon Gano. Concentrating exclusively on gospel music, Gano plays guitar with bass/drums backing and occasionally sings, but the main focus is on lead vocalist Zena Von Heppinstall.
