Second of the Trilogy
Pros: The plot thickens
Cons: Pointless orgy scene
Watching the Matrix movies over and over again is like peeling the layers of an onion: the more you peel, the deeper you go, the stronger it gets. The first movie in this trilogy left us knowing there would have to be more. The socond, which is the obvious pathway to the third, deepens the plot, enhances the characterizations, and strengthens the allegory. More and more references to classic literature, the legacy of the Magdalene, and Neo as the new Christ. As Neo becomes better and better at manipulating the intricacies of the matrix, Mr. Smith becomes more and more sinister. The machines are closing in, and the humans battle for their place in the world. This film contains one of the best battles in science fiction.

Pros: Muliple Smith's and Freeway scene
Cons: Dialogue and expectations of the film when it was released
When I saw this movie in theaters, I was frustrated. The second time I saw the movie in theaters, I was still frustrated. I have seen this movie over two dozen times and you know what? I am still frustrated with this film. What is so flawed with this movie is that the dialogue between any of the characters feels as if they had to force the words out. The Matrix Trilogy will never be known for its eloquent dialogue. This movie, however, just gives this movie the "Worst Dialogue" award for the 2003 movie year. As a result to the terrible dialogue, it seems as if the movie is seven hours long. Another frustration with this film is that the action sequences did not make up for the rest of the movie. I will admit that the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith is jawdroppingly awesome as well as the Freeway chase scene. The only fallacy to this is that the scences were too spread out and once they came, I was asleep by the time they came. I was hoping the movie was over after the chase scene. The result: another terrible dialogue scene in which the characters try to find the Architect who made the Matrix. Come on Wachowski Brothers...you could have done better. I guess that is what they get when they create a four year gap for them to release the sequel. I expected a lot and they didn't deliver. Rent it. Buy it at your own risk.

Everyting that made the Matrix great, was not in this latest insallment! This was not a story with a begining or an ending but merely a set up for a part 3. If you're looking for a movie with a good story line you best stay away from this thing!

Thought it was a great movie. Really made you think about what was going on. Not a movie for stupid people to see. You end up explaining everything to them and miss half the movie.

As with most other fans of the first film I attended this movie with much anticipation. I was sorely disapointed. the action sequences were great, but they were also 90 percent of the overall movie. The plot, as convoluted as it was, was lovingly thrown in at the end of the movie, beggining with a spurt of sequences that went by so quickly I originally thought they were a preview for the next movie. The product placement was also laughable as not only do the bad guys drive a brand new Caddilac, but the good guys just happened to steal a brand new one in the same driving sequence. The acting by Reeves was laughable, and I nearly fell out of the seat laughing when Roy Jones attempted to do the same(BOXING ROY BOXING not RAP, NOT ACTING, BOXING)Overall an adequate and interresting bridge to the next movie(which looks to be the series redemption) but not nearly the movie I had hoped for.

oh my gosh, the matrix: reloaded. i love this movie. plus the dvd has the spoof from the mtv movie awards. i love that. anyway, can't wait til the next one comes out
