Pros: Great thriller, fantastic special effects

Rarely has there been a film that when it is first released is obviously a classic. The Matrix trilogy deserves to be considered a classic, though, along with the very best of science fiction films. The depth of these films, with their literary allusions and their dystopian struggles, present hope as well as despair for the future of the humnan race. Are we conscious? Or are we really directed by a computer over-mind which offers us only an illusion of reallity? Why does Neo have to go into the Matrix to consult the Oracle? And are the Oracle's cookies tasty in real life, or just in the Matrix? What is consciousness, anyway? The Wachowski brothers have created worlds within worlds that have more facets that the finest Swarowski crystals. This film is riveting.

The Matrix was more than worth the price of admission. I can't believe that people don't see the religious allegories right away. I guess people are just stupid. I think this is some of the Wachowski brothers' best work. The reason the Matrix was so appealing to me is because I see something new every time I watch it. There are a million subtle nuances within this movie that keep it interesting even the five-hundredth and forty second time around. To make a long story short, the Matrix rocks my world.
In closing, I'd like to cite the words of the amazing Keanu Reeves...

When I first saw this movie back in 1999, I was instantly hooked on this movie. Most of America came to accept this movie as a movie that no person should go without seeing this visually stunning masterpiece. What is so interesting about this movie is that it seems to keep you looking at the screen because there is always something there that is trying to emphasize the overall feel of the movie. Dark rooms, large explosions, tight areas, sleek outfits, stylish gun battle sequences and amazing martial arts action seem to create a sense of awe that not even the most egotistical reviewer can forget. As I watched this movie last week, the FX look just as sleek as they were back in '99. The movie itself is just as appealing as it was when I first saw it. I cannot seem to get enough of the lobby shootout scene which has to be one of the best action sequences to a rated-R movie ever (Heat cannot top this sequence). I am glad that this movie will be in the archives because it deserves being there. Hopefully thirty years from now, fans of the Matrix can have an appreciation for the trilogy as Star Wars fans have for their trilogy. Why are you still skeptical in buying the movie that started it all? Buy it. It is a movie for the ages.

It is a once in a lifetime experience: watching for the first time the unbelievable special effects, a complicated storyline and most off all, amazing editing. It is a first of its kind . It is a classic.

The Matrix, amazing movie. Great action and story really. What else I like about it is that it's based on Christianity. Keanu Reeves not only a cutie but a great actor. It's movie you must see before Reloaded and playing the Enter the Matrix I think, to understand it better. ;) That is when you can see it, being R and all.
