Lost in the Shadows

As a teenager, this was a movie that I watched with my older brother many a time, even though we typically didn't watch horror movies in our house. But this movie, even my mom, the horror hater, watched with enjoyment (at least somewhat). Who wouldn't love a movie about a town overrun with teenaged vampires? It has creepiness and gore sure, but not over the top. It has a great soundtrack, heavy on the 80's synth and sax, plus a little bit of creepy carousel music. Cute guys (and a cute girl), too: Jason Patrick and young Keifer Sutherland are the studs, and young Corey Haim as the aww-dorable younger brother. Great cast in general, actually; the above, plus Dianne Weist, Ed Herman, and the grandfather (sorry I don't know the actor's name, but he was great whoever he was). There are some comic elements to the movie, too, often provided the aforesaid grandfather, or the Frog brothers, one of whom is played by Corey Feldman. And quotable bits galore. In fact, why aren't you watching this movie right now?

I liked the movie Lost Boys so much that I bought it - the dvd. I only wish there would have a few different comments from the actors.
I also would have like to heard actors comments at the end of Lost Boys. I sure would have loved to hear what Kiefer Sutherland had to say! He's the coolest actor I've seen so far. I did not know he had his own web site. Cool. Linda JacobsenWas this review helpful? Yes - Nolost boys!!

One of my all time favorite movies. Wonderful acting, great humor and one-liners, best soundtrack and a superb cast. I wouldn't consider it a horror movie, but if you like cult movies with a ton of fun loving humor, then I'd highly recommend this movie. A definite must-see in my opinion.
Side Note: The features are not worth the DVD price, but the sound more than makes up for the lack of features. You can get the DVD at Wal-Mart for much less than it says on this site at about $7.99 - $10.99Was this review helpful? Yes - NoScary but really lame compared to today!
This movie was scary the two cory guys were okay but the movie itself was just dumb!!!I can't believe Sutherland was in this!!!The special effects were decent for that year and the vampires did look good but I've seen better!!!

This movie is the best pic Jason Patric has ever made!! He is cute and the movie has a lot of stars in it. If you want to see Jason Patric looking his best ever? Then Watch this movie, I guarantee you won't regret it!!!

The Lost Boys was the first horror movie I saw at a young age. No matter how many other horror movies I see, it will always be my favorite.

One of my favorite vampire movies. Sinister and brooding, but also funny with great character development and a great soundtrack. Wish there was more to the story though. Would highly recommend it.

~This movie was awesome!! It has a bunch of hotties ( the 2 coreys, jason patrick, kieffer sutherland)and is a scary,funny and an all out entertaining movie!!! I can watch it over and over again.~ Definatly 5 stars *****

Boy's family moves to a town on the California coast where vampires like to go for a ride at the local boardwalk. He suddenly get suspicious when his brother suddenly wants his blood for breakfast. Great action/comedy, special effects, and classic performances by Keifer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Feldman and Cory Haim. Great for any DVD collection

Wow...a great horror move The Lost Boys is. I've been watching it for years and still can not get enough of it. Any fan of vampires or horror in general needs to check out this movie. Everything is good...The special effects are great, the plot, & even the music! Jason Patric, Corey Haim, & Keifer Sutherland are awesome! I just thought that giving it 5 stars would be exaggerating just a bit...

I have and will always love this movie. I have it for DVD and VHS and I watch them over and over. I also bought the soundtrack. Keifer Sutherland rules in the vampire department!!

It had everything. Humor; blood, guts and gore; good acting; and a good story line. I own this movie and sometimes watched it twice in a row, but now it's gone. Guess I'll have to but another one. definately one of the best, if not THE best, movie I've seen in a long while!

It is a true clasic it is a little repetative but it is the best movie of it's erra. I belive it is a movie for all exept whimps or people who have a strange fobia like my cusen: he can only watch it in the day but he is geting beter:) truly the best of it's time!!
