Pros: sound, ian mckeller,
Cons: frodo, sam
people need to get a life and get out of the coffee houses. This movie is just one huge marketing event. Lunch box garbage
Pros: 'Two Towers' engulfs us with the battles that are raging.
Cons: 'Two Towers' can not stand alone as a film, but only as a trilogy, but it has never claimed otherwise. This I believe is its only drawback.
The Battle for Middle Earth is truly in its readiness in 'Two Towers' - and it is required watching to understand just how far and how much of this earth has been destroyed by the evil Sauran and Sauroman. The introduction of Rohan is delightful, especially the whole context of equarian culture. For North American's who have been raised on Cowboy and westerns, it is fabulous to see our love of horses reflected on the side of Good. I would have hated to see an Orc on a horse.
There is so much information that needs to be supplied to the audience in this part of the film trilogy and the director has saturated every scene in the hope we don't notice. He must also entertain and the battle scenes were breathtaking. I especially loved the arrival of the Elves (did they have a 'Roman' cast to their entry? - anyone else notice?) I loved it; but then I was waiting for someone to magically make Middle Earth come alive.
I, as well as millions, await the "Return of the King" with bated breath.
Pros: Wonderful cast, beautiful countryside, enchanting music.
Cons: There are only three books, so only three movies. Boo, Hoo.
Peter Jackson envisioned this perfectly. I read this many times, the first being when I was 16, over 30 years ago, and this looks like I imagined Middle Earth. The music choices were wonderful also. I hope he is able to do the Hobbit.
Pros: Great movie with great acting and directing. Wonderful scenery as well
Cons: none
One of the best movies of 2002. I loved The Fellowship of the Ring and I loved this as well. I look forward to seeing the third and final movie, The Return of the King. I am sure it will be even better than the first two. Jackson does a wonderful job directing this work of art.
Pros: flawless
Cons: too good
This movie is great.... The cast, scenary, graphics.sou
nds and lots more are excellent....The movie is so real and sometimes i feel like fighting the orcs too... Great job!!!
Pros: Stong picture
Cons: None!
Kewl Kewl Kewl!!! Shines brighter than theTwo Trees' lights combined with Smaug's hoarde! Beautiful movie...a must have for every DVD collection!
Pros: The storyline
Cons: can't think of any
Ok this is a review of the extended version and I would like to spend my time talking about the changes the extra 43 minutes makes. This movie was long to begin with (at least for modern taste) but I have to say adding 43 more minutes actually seemed to help the movie a great deal. Much more back story and many of the gaps were filled in. In the theatre release, I was not happy with the way Farimirs character was changed. But with a few minutes of additional footage they set up what in the book was a very complex subplot dealing with the unequal love a a father for his two sons. Now I understand that it would be difficult to fully follow the book on this but the movie (at least in its finsihed form) does a great job of giving you the feel of the book even while changing it! Overall, this is a great movie made even better with the additonal footage.
ps the stuff on disk 4 about how they did Gollum was worth the extra few bucks as well!
Pros: the best movie ever (so far)
Cons: not one bad thing to say
Nobody has ever made such a beautiful movie. George Lucas should bow his head in shame after making Star Wars into such crap as of late. Peter Jackson rules.
Pros: nice extra scenes
Cons: can have all the seens in the book
The extended edition of the Two Towers is great. The extra scenes were nice especially if you were confused my short scenes in the movie.
Pros: Awesome movie!
Cons: none
This movie is, in my opinion, the best trilogy ever. It has action, some romance, and comedy (however, not in The Fellowship of the Ring). This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. You'll want to keep seeing it, and seeing it. Never have I felt so strong about a movie, but this is a fantastic movie! If you haven't already seen it, go see it now! You won't want the trilogy to ever end!
P.S. If you don't like a movie for any of those reasons, like it for all of the gorgeous men and women! :O
Pros: Too Many too list
Cons: nONE
Well What can I say Tolkein was Ahead of his time and a mastermind when it came to words this movie is exactly what I pictured when I first read the book. the extended version fills in the parts we find ourselves looking for this is the best buy, series and stories ever created. CAN'T PASS UP ANYTHING THIS THIS GOOD. And it is worth buying the books and reading or re-reading them if you haven't already there is so much you can't understand until you do.
Pros: everything
Cons: none
This movie is well written, well portrayed by the actors, and the cast and the crew did a lot of hard work on it. Orlando Bloom is very good and beautiful in it as Legolas Greenleaf (ironic really, how Greenleaf in Elvish is Legolas, and Legolas in the English is Greenleaf), as is Billy Boyd as Pippin, and Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn. Jhon Rhys-Davis, as Gimli the drawf, is basically there for comical relief. Overall, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a very good.
Pros: Over 40 minutes of extra film
Cons: Should have been released like this originally
These extended versions of the films definately enhance the cinematic telling of the story and should have been released like this originally. New Line should have had the courage to allow these films to be longer, but now we get to shell out more money to enjoy the cinematic telling of the greatest work of fiction ever devised. These films, as great as they are, still fall way short of Tolkien's masterpiece. Read the books!!! You'll forever be glad you did!! Get the collector's set with a great statuette of Smeagol (Gollum) at WalMart for $57.95 no waiting!
Pros: EE Better than the movie release
Cons: none
way to go PJ!
Pros: All Pros
Cons: No Cons
What can I say the best cinematic saga of my generation. The DVD is excellent with more features that I could have ever dreamed of. As a huge fan of FOTR, The Two Towers picks up where it left off and expands and delivers Tolkien's vision of Middle Earth. A beautiful film!!! 5 stars!
Pros: Excellent storytelling & Effects to Match
Cons: A Few 'Cartoonish' spots
Truly the apex of movie making to date. You get special effects galore as PART OF A GREAT STORY, not special effects with lame acting/story like most of modern movies are. Jackson has done a SUPERB job.
Be sure to get the extended version--it's a lot more rich in character development!
