In this adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved stories, players embark on a quest that will lead them through the events of all three films, in the roles of custom characters they create. Developed by EA's Redwood Shores studio, Lord of the Rings: The Third Age separates itself from its predecessors with its turnbased RPG format it has been noted by designers that those who have played Final Fantasy should find the system familiar. Also notable is the ability to ride a horse or a warg in combat, both of which demand special skills.

Visiting locations from all three movies, such as Khazad Dum, Helm's Deep, Osgiliath, and Minas Tirith, players will interact with both heroes and villains as they travel across Middleearth. At times, they will encounter scenarios that may tempt them to cross over from the side of Good, and join the forces of the evil Sauron.     Pros: detailed game

    Cons: not much

    Never playing a Role Playing Game, i really didnt know what to expect. I've played, The Two Towers and The Return of the King where you just fight as one person. But in The Third Age, you can have a group at max 6 people. Three fight at time. The... game lets you be stratigic in your target choice and how to deal with them. This is a really cool game change. Something more challenging then the previous LOTR games. I am really excited because,(this game I am rating is for Gamecube),it has two discs. I have been enjoying this game so far and have only completed 17% of the game. The game travels through the triology and I've only been through half of the Fellowship of the Ring without any major battles like Helms Deep. There is one little downfall. I don't appriciate how when a member is knocked out and the two or three orcs will not stop attacking you even though you have full or close to full health and action points. That has only happened a few time though. So anyone that has problems spending their money, this is a good game to get. Have Fun Gaming!! Read more Less
