    LotRO and Mines of Moria

    By BradR  Sep 19, 2009

    Pros: Kinships and Raids

    Cons: Repetative Content, Hotfixe Stopped

I was under the impression LotRO was an exploration and crafting MMORPG. That's the advertising the convinced me to join Turbine's fanboy ship 2 years ago. That is not what this game is today. Its a Guild Wars in Middle Earth. Crafting update...s are all but gone. As are Hotfixes and other bug repair tools. The game your getting, if you purchase LotRO today, is a soon to be micro credit card transaction copy of Turbine's earlier failure.. D&D Online. I almost thought my 2009 subscriptions fees were just being taken from me. As nothing new appeared in the game for the entire Spring, Summer and Fall of 09. Except for one patch that enhanced Mines of Moria, but should have shipped with MoM, by the loooks and feel of it. Their Legendary Item system is just a timesink, its no fun after the umpteenth run thru their Item XP repeatable quests. Sincerely, X-LotRO fanboy Read more Less

    Good game, horrid support

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 25, 2008

Pros: The game itself is fun, great

Cons: IF you NEVER, EVER require in-game support.

The game is wonderfully made, has lots of fun, unique quests. Has plenty of opportunities to group or solo play. The graphics are very good, the animations are mostly quite good, with the notable exception of elves (they seem to have a lazy eye and h...ave an uncomfortable gait. However, I downgraded my score because the in-game support is so horrid it should never be used if you enjoy sanity. My personal experience left me hating the game company because of this one feature alone. If they can ever hire anyone with a slight degree of professionalism for support purposes, the game would be a definite must buy. As is, it is a modestly good buy due to game playability and all around good design, and if you know that support will NEVER be needed, please try the game. Oh, and crafting could use an overhaul, as nothing truly unique can be made. Read more Less
