Synopsis: The Long Good Friday (1980)

Synopis: John Mackenzie's rabidly engaging, complex gangster film concerns the demise of a dominant English racketeer, Harold (Bob Hoskins), who is about to change his image and go straight. While negotiating a deal with an American organized crime organization to develop the barren Docklands section of London, his associates begin to turn up dead, and the tough Cockney businessman realizes that getting out will be more difficult than he had anticipated. This extremely tight British thriller made Hoskins a star.

   This great british flim is jeawl in british gangster flicks. The continualy dark damp feeling of the london under world is shown in a terrifing light as Harolds lifes work is torn apart around him this superb film. This only proves that Hoskins is an acter with as much talent as verseitilty and this film puts forth the question
   Gangster v Terrorism?
   With a an ending that leaves the fear of God in any who cross the winner. In closing this is a superbly directed british true gangster film with an astonishing role from Hoskins who not only makes the role but the film!!!

   Religon and religous meterphors
   MEAT HOOKS
   compare this to "Snatch" see a truely great british gangster flick rather than Guys comersionalised americanised crap ...
