Pros: Nice little movie about childhood adventures

Cons: Somewhat grainy in appearance, and mediocre audio.

I am happy to stt that this cute movie is available on DVD! I have an aging VHS copy of this movie and rarely watch it for fear of destroying the only copy I had been able to find. This is a black and white movie (I think "colorizing it would d...etract from the visual experience). The young star has an obsession with cowboys and horses. When he thinks he has killed his brother, he goes to Coney Island and has lots of adventures there. Without giving too much away, the movie has a happy ending. I highly recommend this old movie for all. It is wholesome and somewhat "old fassioned", placed in a percieved simpler time. I like the movie and will be happy to have it on DVD! Great show! Somehow, I must order this one. I remember it so well from a TV broadcast in the late Fifties in St. Louis, MO. As a nine year-or-so old lad, I could well identify with the protagonist. The B&W photography and "found sounds" stand out, along with sho...ts of the Coney attractions and one particularly evocative "God's eye" shot of the boy wandering. MUST SEE AGAIN!! Read more Less
