The Lines
The Lines were a quartet of Londoners -- Richard Conning (vocals), Mick Lineham (guitar), Jo 40 (bass), and Nick Cash (drums) -- who laid intellectual lyrics over spare, minimalistic, repetitive jazz-rock riffs. After two EPs (1980's Cool Snap and 1981's Lines) for the Red label, The Lines released two full-length works, Therapy (1981) and Ultramarine (1983).
