When jazz vocalist Dwight Trible asked Carlos Niño (of Ammoncontact fame) to produce his 2003 album Love is the Answer, Niño soon realized that multiinstrumentalist Dexter Story could add a lot to the sound and arrangement of the record. The two worked so well together that they decided to call themselves the Life Force Trio (the third member was "floating"), and soon were working on their own songs.
