Synopsis: The Libertine (2005)

'The Libertine' follows the adventures of John Wilmot, the second Earl of Rochester, in London of the 17th century. He has a passionate romance with a young actress, Elizabeth Barry, and he writes a scurrilous play which lampoons the monarch who commissioned it, Charles II, leading to the Earl's banishment and eventual downfall.

    Pros: I can't think of any

    Cons: The entire movie

    If you've even entertained the idea of watching this movie, save yourself some grief and skip it! This one's a stinker. I can not think of any redeeming qualities of this film. It's not even worth it to look at Johnny Depp, who plays a di...sgusting loathful character. Actually most of the characters are pretty gross. It's a relief when he dies of syphilis at the end!
