The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

    Pros: Everything was Great

    Cons: Everything was Great

When I first saw the E3 2004 trailer for this game, I was amazed beyond belief. My hairs were sticking up, I had goosebumps, and I went into a coma for a minute. I grew up loving the Zelda series. My first game was Ocarina of Time. And every Zelda ga...me seemed to get better and better. The timeline behind the games started to make sense, and everything was perfect. That is, it WAS perfect until I saw the E3 2004 trailer. The trailer redefined the word "perfect". The trailer was perfection in a one-minute video game trailer. I've been on the lookout for more news on this game, but then I realised something; I don't want the storyline behind the game given away. Because of that, I decided to stick to the trailers for the game and nothing else. Nobody likes to have a game's storyline ruined. In late 2004 (or was it early 2005?), Nintendo realised another trailer at the Game Developer's Conference. This new trailer looked amazing. I was glad to see that Nintendo brought back some old characters and remade them. The undead creatures in the trailer were quite suprising. One of the creatures scared me a bit. At that time, Nintendo said the game would come out in the fourth quarter of 2005. I awaited it eagerly. Then it happened, the moment I've been waiting for; E3 2005. At E3, Nintendo had a playable demo of the game, and a new trailer. The new trailer can be viewed at www.nintendo.com. Because of the playable demo, I've avoided many websites and magazines, because I know that they know the full storyline behind the game, and I do not want to have the game ruined. So, I've went undercover to avoid any unwanted spoilers. Nintendo said that the game will come out Holiday 2005, so everybody thinks that it'll come out exactly on December 25. But they're wrong. Holiday shoping begins in early December, so that's probably when we'll get the game. I am eagerly awaiting this game, which promised us over 90 hours of video gaming. In conclusion, THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS IS GOING TO RULE! Read more Less

Twilight Princess contains the same expertly desig

Pros: Compelling characters and story; outstanding world and puzzle design; longer than most action adventure games; terrific graphics, from an artistic perspective

Cons: Wii-specific elements feel tacked on; graphics and sound sometimes go from nostalgic to dated.

When game consoles transitioned from offering primarily 2D games to polygonal 3D games about 10 years ago, all of the tricks and gameplay ideas that developers had been relying on for years flew right out the window. During this time, Nintendo quickl...y found its footing and released masterful takes on its old franchises that retained the fun and feeling of the older games while properly updating them in exciting and impressive new ways. 1998's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was a prime example of this. It featured a more realistic take on the series' fantasy world than ever before, while implementing innovative new controls and offering a good sense of freedom without making the player feel lost. It's one of the greatest games of all time, so it's hard to fault Nintendo for revisiting that same formula. And that's precisely what the latest game in the series, Twilight Princess, does. For the most part, that's a very good thing, because Twilight Princess is a lengthy adventure packed with many well-designed puzzles and some interesting characters. But once you get over the rush of excitement from a big, new Zelda game having finally arrived, it's hard not to feel a tinge of disappointment--there'
;s a very noticeable lack of evolution here, which makes aspects of the game seem more dated than classic. Even so, there isn't much out there that compares to Twilight Princess, except for the Zelda games that have come before it. Like most other Zelda games, Twilight Princess is a retelling of the same basic tale, though this one is not without its twists. There's a princess named Zelda, a land called Hyrule, and a world that's on the verge of destruction if you don't do something to save it. In this installment, there's a darkness creeping across the land, locking it in the eternal dusk of the twilight realm. You play as Link, a humble, pointy-eared boy who lives in a far-off village and herds goats for a living, yet he ends up getting involved in the conflict. The twilight that's infected the land is an alternate reality of sorts, serving as the game's equivalent of A Link to the Past's dark, alternate world, or in some cases, serving the same purposes as the adult Link/child Link differences in Ocarina. The difference here is that when you're in the twilight, you're transformed into a blue-eyed wolf. Early on in the game, you meet up with one of the shadow dwellers, an impish little creature named Midna. Midna rides around on your back while you're in wolf form and serves the same purposes as Navi in Ocarina, providing you with the occasional hint. Link's beast form behaves roughly the same as the human form, as far as combat is concerned, but you can't use items. You can, however, access otherwise unreachable areas by following set jump paths that Midna will lead you through. The wolf can also dig and go into a heightened-sense mode that shows off scent trails and other hidden objects. For the first portion of the game, you'll be forced back and forth between forms, but you eventually earn the ability to switch back and forth at will, and some of the game's later puzzles will require you to do just that. You can also ride around on horseback, if you like, but by the time you get to a point when you have large distances to cover, you'll also have the ability to warp around, limiting the horse's usefulness to a couple of combat-oriented sequences.

This is the best Zelda game I've played.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 23, 2006

Pros: Graphics, all the original cast and a few suprises....

Cons: none, but there is bound to be at least one

From What I have heard from friends of mine (one of which told me about it since he is a beta tester for nintendo, or at least I think he was...) This game is going to put most of the other Zelda games to shame, including that corny windwaker game (t...hat is in my oponion.) This game is great just from seeing the pictures and comparing it to some of the things I rember about the orcina of time, it looks WAY BETTER than that game. I think that Nintendo has finally found a game series that rivals that of the Final Fantsay series for the playstation platform, heck on a cheat web site they had the Zelda series as the best series of all time, AND it beat Final Fantsay. Most of my friends say that the game cube sucks eggs...but when this game comes out... I wouldn't be suprised if I saw somee of them buying game cubes just to play this game. I've got it pre-ordered...From summer 2005, and it still isn't out yet! (at least I think so...) But if Nintendo fixed things this game is going to be the PS2 killer im my own mind at the least. Pros: Graphics, Detailed characters, Scenery

Cons: Yet to be seen, but I assume there are some

The saga of The Legend of Zelda has kept people of all gaming styles intrigued for years now!! I for one am just extactic that there is a new adventure, but more excited that it doesn't look cartoonish. I expect great things, and mark my words, ...this will most likely be game of the year!! I say that from the great response from the Ocarina of Time! Now Nintendo must be holding back on some of the graphics, specificly movie features of the game. Because I know that they wouldn't just let PS2 be the only system where the you can see single strands of hair flowin in the wind. But nevermind all that, BUT THIS GAME, PRE-ORDER IT, or at least rent it! I'mm Out -Samuel- Read more Less
