I remember when this movie was being made. I lived in Texarkana, TX and knew the stories. I thought this would be a cool movie to see. I was only 11 or 12 at the time and saw this with some of my friends and later had one of their sisters drive us ou...t to the house in the movie. And I have been nervous about being out in the country ever since. We had a little creek in back of our house and I just KNEW this thing would make its way to Texarkana! Very Creepy. Read more Less

This was the original documentary style movie before Blair Witch Project!!! It scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. It seemed so realistic and made think about not going into the woods too far. Finally on DVD, you can see how your paranoid ima...gination can get. Read more Less

The Legend of Boggy Creek was one of many "Big Foot" movies released in the early to mid seventies. I saw this movie as a teenager in rural Ohio. We had some woods behind our house that seemed much scarier and spooky after having seen this movie. My ...family was out of town and I was alone in the house. I regrettably admit that I slept with a loaded shotgun under the bed that night. In my defense, I was young, and movies back then weren't as graphic and intense as now. The movie starts out with some decent sound track and production values. Unfortunately it seems that they ran out of ideas and money half way through. The end was as bad or worse than a Duke's of Hazzard episode. I haven't seen Boggy Creek 2 but what ever you do don't buy, or rent Return to Boggy Creek. As much as I love Gilligan's Island's Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) this movie is horrible. I would love to see a well financed and written, modern version of The Legend of Boggy Creek produced. I think Billy Bob Thorton should get something going. Read more Less

My mom and dad dragged me off to see this movie with them when it came out - and I was only 7 years old! We lived in a part of rural Louisiana that was surrounded by swamp, creeks, and woods so the scenery was like "my own back yard". I'm 33 now and... have served in two branches of the military. But I still can't forget this horrible mess and I don't particularly care to go to the woods to this day. Read more Less

Back about fifteen years ago, me and my buddy Chicko watched this movie with this other guy Adrian, and let me tell you this, after watching this movie adrian was never the same again. He won't go near the woods. If he does he suffers from panic atta...cks. Once a big dog jumped out of the woods at him, and he fell to the ground, clenching his chest.He now states that this movie, legend of Boggy Creek has ripped the soul right ot of him. Read more Less

when i say previews to the blair witch project it brought back memories of this movie.it had you on the edge your seat the whole time.never knowing where it would show up next.
