    Long Live This King

Pros: memorable songs and Oscar worthy performances

Cons: a few slow moments and a few forgettable songs

I must say that "The King & I" is quite solid as a musical. Yul Bryner makes his mark as the King of Siam and Deborah Kehr ain't bad herself in singing or acting. The kids are so adorable, and Tuptim and Lun-Tha are definitely a couple w...orth crying over near the end. The most memorable songs I like are "A Puzzlement",Hello Young Lovers"(that one's so memorable,I could play the melody on piano),and "Getting to Know You". There are some long, dragging scenes, like the "House of Uncle Thomas" play,as well as some songs that I can barely remember the melody of;but none of this keeps this movie from being a must-see for many.
