    An Uncommon Science Fiction Film

    Many of today's science fiction films revisit the motifs of their 1950s counterparts, but this is a rare gem of a film that takes those old motifs and twists them around into something new and original. While paying homage to (or making of) such... things as nuclear anxiety, the Red Scare/communist witch hunts, beatniks, the movie also tackles the 1950s issue of conformity in a very touching and unusual way. As in the second TERMINATOR film, we ponder the question, we are made to wonder, does this potentially deadly machine have a soul? By implication, we may be made to wonder, are we born the way we are, or are we what we choose to be? The film's climax offers a touching answer. Fans of science fiction, especially that of the 1950s, will have a romp. Those expecting a big-budget animated film, replete with songs and wisecracking sidekicks will be disappointed, even if this is one of the most original and endearing animated films that I've seen in a very long time.     "The Iron Giant" beats the tar out of anything Disney has put out in the past five years. It has a fantastic story without the cornball music. The voices are perfect and the animation is superb. Very worthy of purchase.

    The Iron Giant went above and beyond what I thought it would! I was shocked when I saw it! The Iron Giant was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The characters are lovable and the story is extremely creative. When I first saw the Iron ...Giant, my breath was taken away! That guy is BIG! The Iron Giant has just enough humor and action/adventure to make it a warm-hearted, fun movie! I would recommend it for everyone because it has a little bit of everything for everyone!     Hilarious!!

    This was a damn good movie!! I enjoyed the characters most, but the entire film was remarkable. It was funny, the story line was creative, and the animation was great. A thoroughly enjoyable film. Check my guy Hogarth out!! He's hilarious!!

    One of the greatest animated films ever

    Pros: Awesome story & characters. Very fun.

    Cons: None that I can really think of.

    This is one of those highly rated films that not many people have seen. It's such a great film that I try to show it to as many of my friends as I can. On the technical side, the animation and music are both great. Additionally, the story is ver...y moving and engaging. It pulls you right in from the beginning. The acting is top notch and each actor appropriately fits their character. But ultimately, it's the charming story that will make you come back to this movie again and again. And to top it off, it's great for both kids and adults. There's humor for every age. I can't recommend this movie enough. It's simply a must have for any fan of movies. Read more Less
