    reality of being a "whistle-blower"

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 8, 2007

Pros: intelligent writing, great acting by Russel Crowe, and another superb directing job by Michael Mann.

    Cons: none

This movie should have won every academy award. Crowe retreated from his "tarzan" and Romper Stomper roles to an overweight, quiet man who is torn between the right thing (divulging the rotten secrets and lies of the tobacco companies) and ripping his life apart by telling the truth.

Great movie showing that "60 minutes" used good people to make themself criminals on the run. Mike Wallace showed the sordid underbelly of this so-called wonderful, honest TV show.

    Tremendous show!

I have taking a couple of Busines Law class but always said that I needed to understand more...
I realize this movie made me understand that with the truth sometimes can not be express when business is involved--unless you think three sets ahead. Like Micheal Jordan said, "fear is an isullion" Rusell Crow proved that

One of the best in years....

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2000 | 1 out of 1 found this The Insider (1999) review helpful

In a time where so many movies are just longer versions of brightly-lit and dimly-written TV shows, The Insider is a true rarity in that it is a film. Brilliantly written, directed and acted, The Insider is fascinating to watch, and one of the few films of such length that you don't want to end.

After seeing the preview I really had no desire to see this one, but I was very pleasantly surprised after I was forced to watch it. Mann does a great job with color and look. Pacino and Crowe both give fantastic performances. Highly recommended.

    Pros: suspense, great acting

    Cons: none

Although sometimes confusing in it's plot-line, 'The Insider' is a cleverly written and excellently directed film.

It features one man's struggle to evaluate and act on his own ethical and moral codes.

A clever, 'thinking man's film' for people who enjoy being challenged by the movies they watch, complete with engaging dialogue and masterful performances from Pucino and Crowe.
