A raunchy precursor to films like KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE and AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON, as well as television sketch comedy from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE to THE KIDS IN THE HALL, THE GROOVE TUBE is also notable for early appearances from Chevy Chase and Richard Belzer.

The Groove Tube's real attractions are its acute observations of the details of television, and its capturing of the zeitgeist to perfection.

    Absolutely strange, bizzare, mesmerizing entertainment when coming down from a speed binge late in the morning, your eyes wont close and this just is the craziest kind of wallpaper pastiche of too many bongs and perverse sexuality gone wrong in the l...abotomy factory. Not nearly as funny as Kentucky Fried Movie but far deeper levels of demntia. Buy it and save it for interesting background material next time your planning an orgy or excessive drug session. Sticks in the mind like seeing your parents having sex. Read more Less
