One of the many products of Stephen King's rich imagination very well put on screen by director Frank Darabont. The movie has a very good story and cast which will hold any viewer tight in his seat during the entire lenght of the movie

This is such a wonderful film. It was fall down funny. Tom Hanks is the master of comedy. And that Coffey guy was great as well. This movie rules!

This movie was great for it's characters . I absolutely loved Micheal Clarke Duncan's role in this film , and believe that he should have recieved an academy nomination for his role in this movie . The one thing I think this movie could have done without is the thousands of insects that would spew from Duncan's mouth each time he used his divine gift to heal someone who was ill . That of course is something to expect from Stephen King . However , I would see it again , it was that good .

Good plot, excellent actors. One cannot ask much more to a dram movie than getting big emotions. A bit long though.

This movie is such a great film there is nothing bad about it. It is filled with all the stuff we like about movies and tops it off with the very emotional ending when John coffey dies(I admit it,I cried,so what I like movies that dont get really sad until the end

I was thinking to myself that I didn't waste my movie ticket money on this one until Duncan started to do those wierd magic(?) things. I don't know why they put those scenes there. It just distorted the whole image of movie. Same thing as "Simply Irresistable", the movie was okay until they floated in the air with "vanila fog". Sometimes, it is hard to understand peoples' mind...

This is a must see movie; however, do not buy this, rent it, for there is no re-viewing value. The movie is very suspenseful and completely unpredicatable, so the surprises are interesting. All in all, watch this once, for it is very good, but no more.

Number 1, Tom Hanks is my favorite actor and I was thrilled that he was going to play on this movie, Number 2, Stephen King is my favorite author and I have everyone of his books, Number 3, I love movies taken place in prison. So there you go. There are the three reasons why I love this movie so much plus the story is very powerful and emotional. This has probably got to be the best movie adapted from a book ever.

...now he is Mr. All American sentimental shlock master. Remember Bosum Buddies? The Man With One Red Shoe? What happened to that guy? The Green Mile has it's cool fx moments but basically it's another senior citizen film about the cliche'd black person who has no education or power but is somehow wise in some mystical way to serve law abiding white fuddy duddies. Look at the cover of the DVD or video package. Tom looks like he just ate a bowl of grits. I guess it was okay in all seriousness, but not deserving of the praise it got by a green mile.

terrible, Tom Hanks plays an almost smart Forrest Gump. The direction wants to be grandiose but ends up looking forced, pacing is amusing as is the mouse and the fact that this got made.

What a strange film. From the director of the excellent Shawshank Redemption who once again returns to prison drama or in this case accidental prison comedy. A giant man who spews butterflies, a sadistic prison guard who enjoys watching people burn to death, a kind and wise warden who cant piss without a burning sensation, and to top it off, a cute little mouse. While this film is definately entertaining it is also absolutely stupid and leaves no impressions afterwards of any real meaning. Tom Hanks may as well say at the end "prison is like a box of choclates"
Please enjoy, but if you want to watch a proper prison movie,see if you can check out the Australian movie, Ghosts Of The Civil Dead, you cant get any better.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nogreat movie
Loved the acting and plot! The 3hrs went by fast. Time period could not of been better set. What more can I say then tom hanks if for no other reason.
