Sergio Leone's closeup shotsare superb; directors need to do more of that. The bridge-blowing scene i...s a particularly accurate Civil War enactment. The music is extremely powerful and memorable, not unlike that which later helped make Conan the Barbarian a notable film. This is the best among the trilogy( the other two: Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More ). Perfect performances by Eastwood, Wallach and Lee Van Cleef. The suspense towards the end when the three must duel to determine who would get the burrie...d cash is particularly fine. This is one of the best western I have ever seen. Read more Less

This is THE definitive western(spaghetti or not)ever made!! The musical score is as good as it gets in any film, and Clint Eastwood commands the screen with an Icy stare that defines the word "cool" (eat your heart out, James Dean).It would be until ...1992 when Eastwood himself released "Unforgiven" that anything else was even close.Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef are also tremendous, you can't lose.John Wayne couldn't hold Clint's jockstrap, nor does rinjiro(a so-called reviewer)have a clue.10 stars out of 5 Read more Less

Excellent Western, Good Music, Plots, Direction. Lee Van Cleef excels as villain and Eastwood as the "good" Guy. Eli Wallach performs well as "Tuco". The title music itself is worth the money. Its a classic.
