    this movie was god awful

    By Aniebiet  Apr 22, 2007

Pros: Seeing Jennifer Anniston in sex scene.

Cons: Seeing Jennifer Anniston in sex scene.

This movie was the worst movie that I've ever seen. I couldn't believe that I sat through the entire movie and didn't put a bullet in my head during the ending credits. Jake gives a lack luster performance as an fairly adjusted teenager w...ho, due to the pressures of an adult relationship with Anniston, spirals into a life of knocking off gas stations and manic depression. Do yourself a favor and rent the Jake movie entitled "Donnie Darko" You'll notice somewhat of a striking similarity between Jake's character in "The Good Girl" and that in "Donnie Darko" The ending of the movies are similar also. They both end up lucky stiffs....pun intended. Read more Less

One of those quiet movies à la American Beauty

    By Francois  Mar 22, 2006

Pros: Hits home if you're in your early 30s

Cons: Slow, a bit depressing really

You know the type, the movie starts with the main character talking about life, how he/she got to where he/she is. Think “American Beauty” or the visual of “About Schimdt”. This time, the movie is not about an insurance employee on the verge of r...etiring but rather a 30-year-old employee at Zellers, I mean Rodeo Mart in Texas. Jennifer is doing a good job, and pre-Brokeback Mountain Jake is the object of her incestuous, I mean adulterous affection. It’s all mildly interesting, the visuals are oatmeal but it’s supposed to be like this. The Good Girl is an entertaining movie if you’re 30, wondering where you’re going with your life and looking back, wondering if life gets better from this point on. Read more Less
