Synopsis: The Good Companions (1933)

Synopis: Sir John Gielgud stars in this British musical as Inigo Jollifant, a headmaster at a small school who gets sacked after insulting the school's headmaster. Setting out on the open road, Inigo finds soon runs into to two other travelers (Gwenn and Glynne) at an inn. There, the three find themselves sharing quarters with the Dinky Doos, a traveling entertainment troupe whom the three travelers join leading the group to dub themselves The Good Companions. Soon, Inigo has struck up a relationship with Susie Dean (Matthews), one of the troupe, and the two develop an amazing rapport on stage. Thrilled with his new profession, Inigo convinces an entertainment mogul to check out the troupe's act, who may help The Good Companions hit the big time. A delightful musical featuring Sir John in a sparkling comedic role and a very young and very fetching Ms. Matthews, THE GOOD COMPANIONS is a breezy treat.
