The For Carnation
Another acoustic post-rock project based in Chicago, the For Carnation concerns full-time Tortoise members Douglas McCombs, John Herndon and David Pajo along with Brian McMahan, formerly Pajo's bandmate in Slint and Squirrel Bait. Despite each member's preoccupations, the For Carnation kept a consistent release schedule, with a debut EP and LP on Matador during 1995-96, and a second, import-only album the following year. The band's self-titled third LP appeared in the spring of 2000.
