Hi, I'm in 8th grade & Just before Spring Break we spent 3 days watching a movie in Social Studies class. We were studying the Civil Rights movement, and thats when we watched this movie.This movie is about a young man name Ernest Green. He is a J...r.(11th grade) at Horace Mann Highschool, which is a black highschool. He is a very smart man and is really good in physics. The intergration law has just been passed, and Ernest wants to attend Central Highschool, a white highschool. To begin and complete 12th grade. He belives that if he attends this school he will have a better chance of getting in to a good college. This well written movie tells the story of Ernest the first Graduate of an all white school, and 8 other students who strive to do their best at Central High. This movie show the racism that these students have to overcome to show their rightful place at Central High. I would reccomend this movie to anyone who is interested in learning more about the first years of ther intergration movement. I found this movie well directed and the Characters very realistic.If you are leaning towards buying I would say it is well worth it. Read more Less
