Even if your not into fashion, you might enjoy this movie. It's got a great storyline with lessons learned and it has awesome, but unaffordable clothes.

The movie set in Fashion world has won a lot of critical and commercial acclaim. Streep especially received accolades from the world over for her performance as Miranda, the unsympathetic n everdemanding Editor of Fashion Magazine "Runway". I particularly got spell bound by her whispery accent that matched so perfectly with her persona. Infact it was her personality in the movie that left a lasting impression in my mind and compelled me towards writing a review.
The role was carefully crafted for a legend like her. It won't be wrong to say that Meryl added depth and meaning to the character by playing it with her wit. Anne Hathway as Andrea, played the co-assistant to Streep. Her beauty and glamour added a Fashion quotient in the movie. Not to forget her occasional fashion foux pas in the early half. On a serious note, the movie is a loose screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name. A must watch for all GALS!!Was this review helpful? Yes - NoBest drama / comedy of 2006

Luv this movie so much, especially Meryl Streep's wonderful Academy Award-nominated performance. "It takes a legend to play a legend". Emily Blunt is also my favourite, "she has many of the movie's best lines and steals nearly every scene she's in". Costumes are extremely glamorous. The soundtrack ? " Oh, that wasn't a question !!! " =))

I was at Sears to pick up a T.V. for the kids and saw a preview for this movie. What caught my attention was the girl who played in the Princess Diaries, Ms. Hathaway?. Finding good movies that are not full of cursing and sex is hard. This one fit the bill and is perfect for the entire family.

What can i say? When I went to the theatre to see this film, I thought Ms.Streep was going to turn out to be the devil hiding in a fashion magazine. Yes, she's that good. But this film goes in a different direction, one that I thought wouldn't be possible to capture on screen. The fast paced enviroment, and quick wit that comes with anyone in this kind of job. Ms. Hathaway keeps breaking away from her Princess Diaries image with this film. She conveys the hardships one goes through to get ahead, and how a person can be seduced easily by the hopes that things will get better if I do just this one more thing, I will be free to do what I want. There are too many great things in this film to describe in these short lines, you must see, to know what I'm talking about.

Although I haven't read the book, but the movie is excellent in everything !! Rookie journalist Andrea (Anne Hathaway) tries to start a career in New York ... She is offered a job that a million girls would die for: A post in "Runaway" fashion magazine ... but as a personal assistant to the "devilish", hidious, cruel hearted Editor-in-Chief Miranda (Meryl Streep) !! ... Fashion was never in Andrea's priorities, but under the influence of her Boss, she opens her eyes & mind to a complete new secret world ... she quickly learns the "tricks & treats" needed to stay on-top of the fashion industry ... but an empty-heart is needed for survival, something Andrea lacks !! ... Meryl is an award-winning actress and surely deserves another Award for her supreme performance !! ... Anne is a pretty face that has beautifull, angely features ... Lots & lots of marvellous and expensive fashion brands displayed allthrough the movie ... The Soundtrack really makes your spirit fly ... A movie every girl should see, and boys too ;-))
