Scorsese Cements His Reputation With The Departed

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 10, 2007

Pros: Despite its two and a half hour run time, Scorsese easily keeps the audience's attention.

Cons: The single disc version has no features whatsoever. If you want the extras, you have to buy that edition.

Fast paced, ultra violent, profanity laden. All three words are great ways to describe this movie. Yet despite all of that, this is still a good movie.

It is especially a great movie for young talent such as co-stars Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matt Damon. In placing them with the likes of veteran actors Martin Sheen and Jack Nicholson. It proves why Martin Scorsese is one of the best directors of all time. The chemistry within this cast is beyond obvious. The cast's chemistry, along with the storyline itself makes for a movie that, despite its two and a half hour run time, is worth the length. Much unilke so many other directors, Scorsese is fully capable of keeping the audience's attention throughout the length of this movie.

And like so many other movies of its ilk, there are enough twists and turns to make a person dizzy (though the camera work definitely helps do that, too). To his defense though, Scorsese does a wonderful job of wrapping up all of the loose ends, righ to the very end (which is very unexpected in itself).

The famous director aside, fans of mob/gangster movies will fully embrace this movie. It is one that could go down in the annals of this genre as one of the best of all time.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 15, 2007

    Pros: good individual perfomance

    Cons: To much "direct" murdering

This movie can be said that Us version of Infernal Affair
with excellent performance with good theme and intrigating development.Jack, Di Caprio and Vera with extreme results.

Actions with mafia & police show the relationship between antagonic objectives but the same solutions for information and conformance.

The films come and gows between actions, lies, investigations ,drama and the triangule with the beautiness, sensuality and misused performance of Vera Farming.

Very good shoot em' up mobster movie.

    Pros: Great Cast

Cons: Boston Accent can kinda get to me..

Well let me start off by saying the Departed had a very sexy cast. Leo, Mark, Matt...just to name a few. That was really besides the point, at the core this was just a really good movie. Very good acting, very good dialogue, and it keeps you guessing through out the whole thing. Stunning look and a very good movie. A+
