Alex Corvis (Eric Mabius) is back from the dead after receiving the electric chair for murdering his girlfriend, Lauren Randall (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). In the guise of the Crow, Alex has returned in order to take revenge on the real murderer and to set the justice system straight. Lauren's little sister, Erin (Kirsten Dunst), risks a similar fate to that of Alex and Lauren, so the Crow's mission is especially urgent. Featuring an excellent soundtrack with music from Filter, Hole, and Tricky, THE CROW: SALVATION is a powerful third film in THE CROW series.

    The Crow - Salvation

The 3rd entry in the Crow series does justice to the cult-classic original, and takes a few liberties with the now-familiar premise of love, death, and revenge from beyond the grave.Eric Mabius plays Alex Corvis, a man put to death for the crime of m...urdering his girlfriend, Lauren Randall (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). However, he's innocent of the crime, and his sentence was a set up. The restorative power of the Crow awakens the dead Alex Corvis...his face now scarred by the electric chair in which he was executed. One by one, he hunts down the ones behind the murder, and the conspiracy, helped by Erin Randall (Kirsten Dunst), the sister of his deceased girlfriend.Eric Mabius sets a different tone from his predecessors (Vincent Perez, and the late Brandon Lee), by portraying a dead man who takes some real joy in the use of his restorative powers. Appropriate, since his character is just 21 years of age. His performance is often subtle, yet very moving, and it fits the nature of his character. Kirsten Dunst's character isn't given the greatest dialogue, but she makes good use of it, turning in another good performance. Genre vets William Atherton, Dale Midkiff and Fred Ward all turn in strong performances, as well as being visible to fans of science fiction and horror. "Nash Bridges" and "Halloween H2O" alum, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, is wonderful in her handful of scenes, and will leave you wanting more. The film has a wonderfully dark, artsy atmosphere thanks to the work of director Bharat Nalluri, who makes good use of a small budget. The eerie scoring of Marco Beltrami sets a wonderful tone throughout the film, and Like the first two entries in the series, "Salvation" benefits from its powerful Soundtrack, featuring Filter, Kid Rock, Stabbing Westward, Hole, Rob Zombie, and many more. The music helps set the tone of the film, and each song fits perfectly into the scenes in which it is placed. All in all, "The Crow - Salvation" is a VERY strong film. Its only weaknesses are some occasionally hokey dialogue, and a potentially confusing climax. The script could have used a couple more rewrites to iron out these difficulties, but nonetheless, "Salvation" is a well-paced, suspenseful, atmospheric ride. Well worth your 90 minutes!
