    I think I really liked it.

    Pros: Good jump scenes, music. Pretty good acting for the most part.

    Cons: Definitely not a family movie, too scary for children.

    I wasn't sure what to expect when I rented this movie, but after all was said and done, I think I liked it. It wasn't my usual type of movie (I usually avoid things with witches and ghosts, etc, I get scared too easily.) But the movie was a g...ood mix of scare factor, lightheartedness, the love story angle between the chick and the guy, and a good sense of the good guys winning in the end-- which is always a real plus for me when it comes to movies with evil/scary things in them. I also liked how the fairy tales were incorporated into the storyline and how he was writing them all down for his book. It was fun to recognize each fairy tale here and there. All that being said, I wouldn't vote it the best movie of the year, but I give it two thumbs up. Read more Less

    Disappointing

    Cons: Slow and cluttered

    When I first saw previews for this movie, I was very much looking forward to it: it sounded like it could be a lot of fun. The concept was a good one, and the actors are first-rate. The Grimm brothers- con artists who make a living faking fairy-tale... hauntings and the like and then "saving the day"- are stuck when their deceptions are discovered and they are forced to investigate similar occurrences that the authorities believe are being perpetrated by another gang of con men. You quickly begin to suspect that these supernatural occurrences are the real thing, after all. There are some amazing special effects and some really beautiful scenes that evoke classics like "Little Red Riding Hood" or "Rapunzel", but the movie never quite manages to truly capture- and sustain- the fairy tale ambiance it promised. Unfortunately, with this movie the reality did not live up to the expectations. While parts of the film are fun and entertaining to watch, the story bogs down often with strange scenes that really put the brakes on the action and muddle the flow. It feels like the primary attractions- the magic forest, menacing trees, vicious wolf and of course, the wicked witch- are overwhelmed by the number of times the action is suddenly yanked into another location, breaking the spell and making it hard to become involved in the story.     Cons: The Movie was dull

    Matt Daman is one of my favorite actors. Heath isn't to bad either. But this movie was a pure bore. I watched an hour & fell asleep. Not worth watching.

    Pros: It looks great!

    Cons: Heath Ledger sounds like he has marbles in his mouth.

    I got this DVD for Christmas and loved it! I had already seen it before in the theatres. This is a light-hearted hodge-podge of tradtional fairy tales, woven into a decent story. You'll have fun picking out bits of snow white and sleeping beauty,... among many others. The imagery is beautiful and makes the movie worth seeing, aside from its other fine attributes.
