Formed in July of 2002, the Bridges are a family band consisting of siblings Natalie Byrd (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Stacey Byrd (vocals, guitar), Isaaca Byrd (bass), and Jeremy Byrd (drums), along with cousin Brittany Painter (lead vocals, guitar). Originally from North Carolina, the Bridges are currently based out of Oxford, AL, where the entire band shares a house and rehearsal space. With a bright pop sound full of threepart harmonies, the Bridges site influences ranging from lateera Fleetwood Mac to the Beatles and Crosby, Still, Nash Young, and the group's approach, although it draws on these classic 1960s and 1970s sources, is delightfully refreshing. The band signed with Verve Records in December of 2007 and began working on a debut project with Matthew Sweet at his studio in L.A. that same year.
