    It would have been Better??

    The movie was just "OK",Dolly reported that she was not feeling well wehn she did this movie,and Burt had a cold and was going through some personal stuff,she said that the movie was fast made and she did like how it turned out. The play ...was more better,it got good reviews,but the movie did not. The acting was allright, the music score had only two numbers that I liked and the dancing part of Melvin Thorps and also the governer. ADolly parton's verson at the beginning of the movie was excellent,and 'hard Candy Christmas" was also excellent. Good dance number from the hookers. At the end of the movie when she sang I;ll Always Love You, really did not have to be in the film.If they picked another person to play Sollys part it wouldn't be good,but It was Dolly's movie, if she was not feeling good it would have been a great movie,I don't think that the director took enough time for the project.But i have always liked Dolly and she is a good actress and a great singer.     Performances by Burt & Dolly were fine, but the story was not my cup of tea. I like the movie better if the story didn't include the "Melin P. Thorp" crusades. Music & dance more likely to be my cup of tea.

    This is one of my favorite musicals. At times it is a bit cheesy but what musical isn't? Dolly and Bert play fun characters. The over all tounge and cheek situations make it rather comical. Nice mature fun.
