Synopsis: The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer (1947)

After love-struck teenager Susan is found in his apartment late at night, hapless painter Dick is given an unusual choice by the judge, who just so happens to be the girl's sister: date the smitten high-schooler until she gets over her infatuation... or go to prison.     A wonderful and witty script comes to life with the on screen chemistry of the sauve Cary Grant, the delightful Shirley Temple, and the intelligent and beautiful Myrna Loy.Cary Grant gives a wonderful performance as he must convince a love struck tee...nager (Shirley Temple) that he is simply not the man she thinks he is. Grant goes so far as to revert to the behavior of an awkward teenage boy in hopes that Temple's character will fall out of love. His plans of course backfire again and again creating a bittersweat relationship among Grant and Myrna Loy (playing Temple's older sister).A combination of slap-stick comedy (Grant's specialty) and hilarious plotting, lead the viewer through the wonderful twist and turns of this multi-faceted comedy. Grant is at his comedic best with the help of Temple and Loy. This movie is a treat for all ages and is a feel good comedy for any occasion. Read more Less
