The Aquanettas were an all-female guitar-pop group from New York featuring lead singer/guitarist Deborah Schwartz, lead guitarist Jill Richmond, and drummer Stephanie Seymour. Their surf- and folk-rock-tinged debut, 1990's Love with the Proper Stranger (named after the Natalie Wood film), offered Schwartz's wry musings on the opposite sex. After a 1993 EP entitled Roadhaus, The Aquanettas disbanded, with Schwartz launching a solo career as a folk artist.
