    Pros: Excellent acting

Cons: DVD/VHS so difficult to find

I will never forget the look on Catherin Deneuve's face when Jack Lemmon sat down beside her on the plane. Pure magic.

Pros: A real and romantic movie

    Cons: Not found in DVD

I saw this movie in a New York theatre in 1969, and since then I have been in love with it, because the acting of Deneuve and Lemmon was so convincing and natural, and the theme so common with too many loving people married to people not interested i...n love and romance, that the end of the movie means to me a call to all of us to check more carefully inside our hearts to see when there is or not real love for someone before taking the decision to tight knots (IN ANY WAY) for ever. The April Fools

A Romantic Comedy, this movie IS what movie making is all about. It DOESN'T have computer generated special effects or huge explosions, and violence, but it DOES have a most hilarious, heart warming story. The cast is very likely perfect, from it's... two main stars [Catherine Denueve as a young beautiful goddess & Jack Lemmon as the absolute perfect befuddled but following society's rules businessman] to the supporting cast [Sally Kellerman, Jack Weston, Peter Lawford, Harvey Korman, Myrna Loy & Charles Boyer each handle their roles the old-fashioned way - they ACT!] each delivers a performance to keep your eyeballs glued to the screen in delight. The only downside to this film is you need to take some pain killers for your sides as the laughter is unavoidable and some Kleenex for your tears. Since this film was made in 1969, and computer generated effects weren't the norm, they filmed it in a variety of locations which enhances the overall experience of a classic film; beautiful photography, great performances [even from the minor roles] and a believable, yet all too rare, love story among "the Princess & the Frog", "Lady & the Tramp", a "reverse Cinderella". If you haven't seen this film, then there is a hole in your life's experiences. Read more Less
