    Pros: cast, script

    Cons: jumpy

    The movie was scarier than the original. Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Ryan Reynolds surprised me by being so good at horror when I thought he only did comedy.

    Amityville Deceptive

    Cons: Indifferent to the real story and family involved

    I watched the remake of Amityville Horror figuring it would be pretty much a redone script of the original, but hoping maybe it would be more truthful to the actual account of events told by the Lutz's. I got neither. I found the special effects ...and make up and some of the situations in the film to be good and I think if this were just marketed as a horror film without trying to fool people into thinking it's a true story, I would have liked it much better. Unfortunately, I have a problem with saying a movie is "Based on a true story" and then deviating from just about every fact that really happened. I have an even bigger problem when you do this knowing full well that the people that the "true" story really happened to could be hurt or maligned by what's in your film. George Lutz has spoken out against the film and has given an honest account of what really happened to him and his family in Amityville and it's no where near what this film portrays. It's so bad that I feel that the people who made it and claim it's a true story should be sued for liable. The events Mr. Lutz chronicles are very mild compared to what this film portrays and even what the first one did for that matter. So as a horror movie, it's decent, definitely not the best or scariest I've ever seen by a long shot, but ok if you have time to kill and want to see a scary movie. But knowing that it's claiming to be true and doesn't even come close to telling the truth bothers me enough to bias me against the film. I just think it's wrong to use people's real names and say you're telling their true story, and then not do that. If you don't want to tell what really happened, change the names and don't claim it really happened, bottom line. Read more Less

    it was a good movie i didnt get scaried by it tho (i usally dont) the plot was good and many ppl i kno think it was really scary even the thid time they watched it i think you should see it
