The Album Leaf is the one-man solo project for Tristeza guitarist Jimmy LaValle. By taking elements of classical, drum'n'bass, and jazz, LaValle makes use of ambient noises, field recordings, and radio transmissions amongst other noisy elements to result in an style of post-rock instrumentation. A collaboration between Linkwork and Music Fellowship Records released The Album Leaf's first full-length, An Orchestrated Rise to Fall, in 1999. In an Off White Room followed two years later.
