    Pros: Each song has a message.

    Cons: Wish lyrics were included.

    This CD is great, especially if you are in a place where you have emotions running wild. It talks about forgiveness which is something we all have to deal with in some fashion in life.

    In my unrelenting frenzy of buying CDs the past few days, I found a gem in my unplanned purchase of india.arie's latest opus, Testimony - Vol.1: Life & Relationship last August. This is how an R&B record should be, philosophical and deep, yet sti...ll enjoyable and relaxing to listen to. My favorite tracks include The Heart of the Matter and Wings of Forgiveness. Paying attention to the lyrics of the latter made me think of india as a messenger of hope, faith, love and sympathy as she makes points of reference to Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and Jesus Christ. In its entirety, the record would make a great candidate in this year's Grammys. Read more Less

    Pros: Honest, self reflective, positive messages.

    Cons: Can be overly folky.

    There are some fabulous songs on this cd. I'm fond of nos. 2, 4, 6, 11, the interludes and most especially 15. The cd is worth the buy just on that track. When I first got the cd, I listened to each track from the beginning and was just like...eh..., it's ok, some pretty cool songs. But when I got to no. 15, omg!     India Arie has such soulful music. For those who are tired of the music of today where everyone sounds the same and the lyrics have no depth, have we got a treat for you. Everyone can relate to India because she come with real life situations and giv...es a new outlook on them. I love her honesty, and integrity, and I'm proud of this cd.
