As sequels go, the wait until 1991 for a follow-up to James Cameron's 1984 film "The Terminator" was a long one. An incredible hype machine built up around the release, and for once audiences were not left disappointed with a sci-fi action flick that delivers the relentless excitement it promised.
At its most basic, "T2" is a big budget remake of the original film - a chase movie with Sarah Connor (Hamilton) being pursued by a Terminator sent back in time to kill both her and her son, who will lead the rebellion against Skynet. The neat twist is that Connor's son, John (Furlong), has sent back a re-programmed friendly T-800 terminator (Schwarzenegger) from the future, to stop the evil T-1000 terminator (Patrick) from killing the young John and his mother.
The other key difference in this sequel is that Arnie's no longer playing the bad terminator. He's now T-800 - the lumbering underdog to the far cooler and more deadly liquid metal shape-shifting T-1000.
With a massive budget at his disposal, writer/director James Cameron exploited this battle of the cyborgs to the max with a new standard of special effects, but he didn't swamp the film with them. They enhance the movie by introducing dangerous threats to the survival of the heroes, while retaining the all-important physical essence of the fear of the chase that made the first film so exciting. i LOVE terminator 2. it is my 2nd fave movie of all time next to BTTF. the quality and surround sound of the dvd was great and the action is amazing.it is so worth seeing over and over if you love the movie and i would def. recommend buying.

I luv this movie so much. It has lots of action, and its the kind of movie that when you want them to turn right your turning in that direction and jumping in their shoes. This movie was great with Arnold Swartzenager, who played a very well mindless robot (so to speak), Linda Hamilton, with moves and can beat the crap out of A LOT of people, Edward Furlong, sooo cute and pretty smart (only cuz of his mother). This movie was a great BIG BREAK for Edward Furlong who played John Connor. He's awesome, but his hair is hillarious... lol, but cute. I thought it was really awesome, and if you're looking for a night for action....hehehe.....this is the movie for you! This is and always will be a classic of a ACTION PACKED FILM! The 3rd could never be better than this one!

T-2 was great the story It had great action and visuals effects. The characters realy grow on you and you see why at the end(Its realy sad). The end make the moive memrable. Tho i dont like T-1 or T-3, T-2 to me is one of the best moives ever made!!!

T2 is a masterpiece in all corners of movie making - Acting(Arnie, Patrik and Hamilton, although Furlong sucks the more you see him), Directing(Ill admit that dick Cameron did do the film justice), SFX(How many explosions, computer graphics?) and Make up(Hail Stan Winston the king of make up). This is Arnies best film still and i know that Terminator 3 will rock even more than this. T.2. Judgement Day is the best special affects movie I have ever seen in my life, and I see a lot of movie, and it smokes the Matrix (1999) and it beats the hell out of the Matrix reloaded (2003)whitch by the way was a discrace to special effects and good graphics, and the sweet thing about T2 is it was only made in 1991 and it eazilly

Personally I prefer the Director's Cut Boxed Set(VHS)for the extra footage which adds depth but the original cut is very tight and fast paced. One rockin ride from start to finish. Mind blowing effects, pulse pounding action, awesome stunts, humour, heart...love this film. This is Mr. Cameron in top form and at full throttle!

Don't watch this movie, if you really not looking for action, the intelligent fiction and beautiful graphics would make anyone rock on is seat, if he views for the first time,
ARNOLD, looks smart and muscled like ever and the natural that he gives as a TERMINATOR is really appriciable.
The climax which would make many of the people into a sympathetic mood, is also well directed.

This is definantly a keeper. In my opion, not only the very best Arnold movie but the very best Action Movie too! Nonstop action with all of Arnold's classic lines. If you like this movie, you should also try Commando and Eraser. Those are the only two movies I think that even come close to how good this movie is.

You bet. Awesome special effects, great plot, and great acting. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the main reason to see this film, he is chilling and effective as the cyborg sent back through time to protect young John Connor, leader of the resistance.

This movie has got to be one of the top 10 movies of the 1990's!!!! The directing is EXCELLENT. For best affects, watch the first TERMINATOR and follow w/ T2-JUDGEMNT DAY - James Cameron shows how history repeats inself w/ certain scene "remaining the same - but slighty different!!!" -You also see the evolution of Sarah Conner from wimp to superhero....
