San Diego retro-garage quintet the Tell-Tale Hearts includes singer Ray Brandes, organist Bill Calhoun, guitarist Eric Bacher, and ex-Crawdaddys bassist Mike Stax. Mixing their beat and garage influences with a fondness for electric Chicago blues and the British groups (i.e., the Yardbirds) who shared that affinity, the Tell-Tale Hearts recorded a self-titled album of spot-on imitations of their inspirations in 1984.
