    Mooney's Finest & Rarest

    Pros: New Orleans sound

    Cons: hard to find

    This CD has John Mooney at his finest. He is teamed up with a piano player (Mr. Cooper) that plays in the New Orleans-Professor Longhair style. Along with the Bluesiana band, this recording's listenablity has never again been matched by Mooney, o...r anyone. This may be my favorite CD of all-time. I wore out the original vinyl record, and many cassette copies. My biggest regret is that it is extremely difficult to find on CD or in any P2P forums. John Mooney is a slide guitarist, working primarily in a traditionalist Delta acoustic style. Originally hailing from Rochester, NY, Mooney learned his craft first hand from country blues legend Son House.
