Handheld gamers now have a new way to play together in Tekken: Dark Resurrection. Making it's debut on the PSP, Dark Resurrection features two new characters, an "AdHoc" mode for up to eight players, the return of the Armor King, 19 stages, new modes and more than 30 customizable characters.

The two new characters, Lili and Dragunov, are from the classic arcade Tekken, and each character will bring their own special moves and attacks with them. Earn money to spend on costumes, armor, weaponry, and other items.

The game features four modes of play – "Arcade Battle," "Team Battle," "Quick Battle," and "Story Battle" and multiplayer options include three attack modes. "Time Attack," "Survival," and "Gold Rush" pits player against player in a fight for supreme thumb skill supremacy. As usual, a "Practice" mode gives gamers a chance to test their skills before entering the ring. "Story Battle" includes background information on each character as players fight for the title of "Tekken Lord" through a series of Dojos based on a private island owned by Mishima Zaibatsu. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

    Best fighting game ever!

By Angel Mass  Mar 3, 2007 | 3 out of 3 found this Tekken: Dark Resurrection review helpful

Pros: Beautiful, detailed graphics, smooth animation, huge selection of characters and styles

Cons: Can be difficult to control at first

Tekken is the best fighting game to be found in any videogames console and the PSP version clearly shows it. The graphics are the best you can find, not only in a fighting game, but in any game in the PSP. The movements are neat and stylish, they flo...w naturally and looks great. The different fighting technics are fun to explore and watch, like the Capoeira fighters and the Lilis style. Over all is a worthy game to have, if you are a fan of fighting games, or not. -) Read more Less

The best Fighting Game for the PSP!

By ?  Aug 29, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Tekken: Dark Resurrection review helpful

    Pros: stunning graphics,great sound,great gameplay,tons of replayabilities.

    Cons: control's not so comfortable

Tekken, Namco's popular fighting series has finally made it to the PSP.This has got to be the best game on the PSP. It has the graphics, tolerable load times(heck, if you can even get riled up by them, they are very short), diversity, and even di...fferent modes that offer a variety of game play tactics to conquer. This game is a port of Tekken 5, which came out on the PS2. PLUS, it has extras that are exclusive to the PSP game.Lili is the name of one of the new characters. She rocks and is pretty hot. Another new addition is the Tekken Dojo, which allows the player to travel around various Dojos becoming the #1 rank in all of them. Also, online has finally seen the Tekken genre, and shone a light of glory upon it. ...Unfortunately, you still won't be fighting your penpal in Tokyo, Japan in this game. It seems that Namco is rebellious to pit fighters against each other. Anyway, you technically CAN fight other people... by fighting their GHOST DATA!!! That's right, ghost data can be transferred to the internet, so that you could upload your best fighters, or you can pick out which fighters you think will pose more of a challenge to you in you variety of modes to play. GRAPHICS: 11/10 The graphics blew me away! Guess what? The graphics are the same from Tekken 5 on PS2! I never thought that the PSP could handle graphics this good. I thought they would at least be a step down. As it the graphics are truly awesome. SOUND:9/10 From the beautiful music of the opening movie, to the sound of the punch that you landed on your opponent's gut, the sound will totally immerse you in the game. The river's whooshing, the ground breaking, the grunts in battle (although they are used often) are absolutely astounding. You will be amazed that they squeeze so much stuff into a game, and there is still many things left. Voices are also very similar to the PS2 game, so there is no need to worry about that. GAMEPLAY: 9/10 This game has everything to offer in Tekken 5 for the PS2, AND MORE!!!Each characters has a set of moves which consists of grapple, combos, holds, juggling, etc. If you not familiar with the series, you might button mashing in the beginning but soon, you will find out you need to learn a bit of how the system works. There are a variety of different modes you can play in the game. If you're looking for a quick battle or if you want to play survival mode, Tekken has it all. There is another character that is making an appearance in this game: Armored King.By winning and earning money, you are also able to customize your characters by buying different items such as a different hairstyle and even different colors. The factor that troubles the fighting games is the D-pad on the PSP. However, when playing the game, it felt it was pretty easy to use when executing the moves (also helps since a lot of the moves in Tekken doesn't require full circle motion on the D-pad). If you pre-order this game, you should have receive the D-pad attachment. I highly suggested you to use that attachment. It helps a lot when playing fighting games such as this one. If you do not have one, there are online stores that sells these attachment. I am rather quite disappointed with the online features of the game. There isn't any official online fighting mode which I would like to see. However, you are able to download "Ghost Files" in order to test your skills. There are also some mini games where you can sit back and enjoyed if you don't want to spend your time fighting. There is also a theater mode where you can watch the videos that you unlock from the main game. VALUE:10/10 More than 30 characters to master, almost 10 modes to master them in, PLUS the Dojo mode must be done with all charcters to be considered complete. If you have PSP and have any remote interest in fighting games I recommend you to go out and buy this game right now! Even if you already own Tekken 5 for PSP this game is s Read more Less
