TNN Outdoors Fishing Champ Game Boy Color

As your fishing adventure begins you can select from three modes of play: Tournament, Free Fishing and 2-Player head-to-head fishing. Once you've selected a mode of gameplay, you will be prompted to play a previously saved game or start a new one, as well as register your name to begin.

Tournament mode puts you in a competition to become the undisputed fishing champion. You will battle through six stages (two saltwater and four freshwater locales). Free Fishing also has six stages, but no rules. You can experiment with assorted lures, casting and fishing spots as you learn the ins and outs of championship fishing. 2-Player mode allows you to compete against another player for the highest total weight of fish caught in one hour. You will need two Game Boy Color systems, a ~Game Link cable and two copies of the game to play in this mode.

Once you're out on the water (on the Boating Screen) you can move around and look for the best fishing spots. Interesting places such as White Beach, Sky Bay, Blue Lake, Green River, Stone Lake and Twin Lake offer a variety of environments and challenges.

In the lower left corner of your screen you will find the Boat Position Indicator. You can use this indicator to track your relative position. In the center of the screen you will find important data such as time, weather, temperature. This information also shows your exact position with x and y coordinates. The last piece of important screen data can be found in the lower right corner. The Depth Finder reveals the contour and depth of the lake or river bottom under your boat, as well as any fish that may present.

Be sure to check your Tackle Box to make sure that you are using the right lure -- advice from the pros really helps here. The game offers you customized advice on what tackle and bait to use for each situation. Select from a variety of lures, including Spinner – Silver Leaf, Popper – Pop-R-Matic, Minnow – Streamliner, Spinner Bait – Big Champ, Worm – Tricky Worm, Grub – Wavy Grub, Pork and Jig – Pig and PG Pork and Metal Jig – Super Metallic.

TNN Outdoors Fishing Champ includes over 30 types of fish, including Sea Trout, Bonefish, Bluefish, Sea Bass, Mackeral, Octopus, Flathead, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Walleye, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and many more.
