Saving the world can be a cold thing!

Of the two episodes, "Panic in the Sky" is one of the finest episodes in the original TV series. The approach of a killer asteroid brings Superman to the aid of a scientist who entrusts him with a bomb to blow up the big rock, as there are no guided... missles that can travel that far. (This IS the early 50's.) He accomplishes his mission, but the asteroid is now circling the Earth and Superman has lost his memory! Everything comes out well, though Clark does go through an identity crisis. (And we get a peek at Clark's apartment!) In "The Big Freeze," Superman is tricked into entering a chamber where the temperature is close to absolute zero. He loses his powers, turns white, and has to enter a blast furnace in the hopes of getting his powers back. Guess what happens? Both good episodes, but the earlier is definately the better.
